Dedicated to the memory of Roland Charles Tann

This site is a tribute to Roland Tann. He is much loved and will always be remembered.

Roland Tann was the founder of Flame of Revival and was married to Margaret for 64 years and they have two sons and three grandchildren.  He joined the Port of London Authority Police where for three years he worked on a CID squad, fighting organised crime in the docks.  Roland later transferred to the City of London Police and soon became a physical training instructor attached to a Home Office Police Training Centre at North leigh, near Oxford.  He had a black belt for judo and later gained another for aikido. Roland on occasions taught specialist police instructors (for England & Wales) self-defence and disarming techniques.

In 1973 whilst driving his car to the Police Training Centre, his car broke down and the engine went up in flames.  He put the fire out but met the presence of the Lord at the side of the road and it turned his life around. Roland didn’t have a religious background; all he knew was that he was going to hell and needed to change direction and follow Jesus.  His marriage which had been on the rocks was healed and his two sons wanted to become Christians because they saw the reality of what God had done in their marriage.  The Lord later brought him out of the ‘Martial Arts’ when he realized the occult influence behind it.

From 1975, The Lord led Roland, an evangelist with a healing ministry, with Margaret to minister around England and later he went to many other countries to minister the Gospel. He has seen many signs and wonders following the preaching of the word of God. He trained at Kingdom Faith Bible College and gained a diploma in ‘Prophetic Bible Teaching’ and a ‘Ministry Certificate’.  Roland was a police chaplain for Essex Police at Central Division and Essex Police HQ, working from Chelmsford Police Station for 14 years. He was also on the board of the ‘Essex Christian Healing Trust’.  Roland and Margaret were directors of Chelmsford Healing Rooms for 5 years where they trained teams of people from 8 Churches to minister salvation, deliverance and healing the sick.

Roland passed peacefully in his sleep quite unexpectedly on the 10th May 2024. The Lord decided it was his time.

Well done, good and faithful servant. Matthew 25:23
